Workshops

Most people think that by just spending a lot of money on a DSLR camera, it will magically take better photos than their point-and-shoot did. The only problem is the operator is more important than the camera. You can leave your camera on Auto or Program mode and take average photos (and every now and then, a great one), but to truly take consistently great photos, you need to take your camera off program mode! Our workshops teach you how.

Take Your Camera Off Program Mode! Part I

3-Hour Workshop / $99 / Beginners

This workshop is suitable for beginners and anyone that uses program mode at all. You will learn all of the variables of exposure and how to put them together to create your image.

Aperture - How to blur the background in your images
ISO - How that ISO number can help your images.
Shutter Speed - Stop blurring your subjects!
Lenses - What should your next purchase be?
Focusing - How to focus on your subject and not the tree behind them
RAW Files vs. JPEG - Learn why you must shoot RAW.
White Balance - How to eliminate weird colors in your images.
Manual Modes - No more guessing! Pick the right mode.

Part II - Challenging Light

Now that you are more comfortable with your camera, time to learn more techniques, take more control and become fearless!

Histogram - The best guide to perfect exposure
Exposure Compensation - Tweaking exposure in Aperture Mode
F-stops - More on the relationship between aperture, ISO and shutter speed
Shooting in Manual Mode - We talk about manual mode until it doesnt seem so scary.
Flash - All things flash (I shoot live on the big screen and create the perfect flash exposure)

And anything else that you have had problems with since Part I
