When and where are the workshops held?

Please note there are two separate locations for the Richmond workshops

How many workshops are there and are they all the same?

There are 5 separate sessions of the “Take Your Camera Off Program Mode!” Part I workshop to accommodate more schedules. Once you buy the deal and receive your voucher from LivingSocial the day after you purchase it, you can register on the DSLR Workshops website. The workshops are held all indoors and take place rain or shine.

I can’t make any of these times or locations, are there any other dates I can use the voucher?

Sorry, these are the only locations and dates available for this deal.

How do I pick the session I want once I buy a voucher?
Registration starts once you receive your voucher from LivingSocial which is the day after you purchase.

I can only make a specific time. How will I know there is enough room in that class before I buy?
All workshops are open and have plenty of room so there is no need to rush and register right this second. You can register tomorrow or next week and you will be able to select the time that works for you.

It looks like a lot of people are signing up. Isn’t it going to be hard for you to handle so many people?
It’s a big room and I have two big screens and two big projectors. I also will be mic’d and will have enough assists to work the room and help everyone with their settings. This past weekend in Richmond, VA I had 125 people per class with room for more and the feedback left on Living social was 84 of 84 thumbs up!

What exactly is a DSLR?
It’s a digital camera that uses interchangeable lenses and allow you full control of your camera settings. The major brands are Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Pentax and Sony.

Do I bring my camera?
Yes! Bring your camera so we can go through the modes, take some photos and learn what to do once you’re back home.

I don’t have a DSLR. Can I still attend?
Sure, anyone can attend, but it would help if you’re able to play around with your camera during the class.

I have a point and shoot camera. Can I still attend?
Sure, but you won’t have the same features as the DSLRs and there are so many point and shoot cameras that it’s not always easy for me or the assistants to find where some features are located. It’s much easier when you have a DSLR.

I don’t own a DSLR yet, do you have a camera I can borrow?

I do have a couple of cameras that I can lend out during the workshops. You can email me me and let me know which session you plan on attending and I will let you know if there is still one available before you buy the deal. The day of the class, it’s first come first served so arrive even earlier if you want to borrow a camera.

I see you offer a Part II workshop; are you coming back here to do one?

My schedule is pretty packed until March of 2012 so that would be the earliest I could hold one would be in spring 2012.

There are two of us sharing a single camera. Do we both have to pay?
It’s per person so you’d have to pay for 2 people.

What if I need to change my time after I register?

It’s not a problem. Just register again and put “re-register” in the comment area.

My son or daughter would like to attend. Is there a minimum age for the workshop?

No, So far there has been an 11 year old and at least ten 12 and 13 year olds that have taken the workshop with success so as long as they’re willing to take it then they’re welcome.

I missed the deal, can I still get the price?

Sorry, it’s a one time deal so if you miss it, you’ll have to pay regular price which is still a deal. You’ll see!

Where are the workshops held?

There are workshops in both Columbus and Cincinnati and since they are relatively close I will accept Columbus vouchers for Cincinnati and vice versa. Feel free to purchase either one and redeem for either location.
